    Hello  Belinda McElrath,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

To enter a new recovery key ID, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Open the BitLocker Drive Encryption Control Panel by typing "BitLocker" in the search bar and selecting "Manage BitLocker."
    2. Click on "Enter recovery key."
    3. Enter the recovery key that matches your new recovery key ID.
    4. Click on "Next."
    5. Click on "Skip this drive" or "Save to a file" if you do not want to encrypt the drive at this time.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Haijian Shan
