My windows recently updated and all security was lost. My screen has no menus and only prompts me to reset pin. My issue is the email associated with the account is no longer active to get security code. So in updating my security contact email it’s put all use of computer accessibility into pending. The problem I am having is I can not access my computer at all . I read it takes 30 days! I cant cancel the request even because it requires use of that email I no longer have! I assume it was the only verification set up as there are no options in the drop down to verify any other way. This has sent me into a panic! Please help!. Also my username is populated in the sign in page and not able to possibly use anything else. Please Help!!!

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to cannot access computer.

    1. Restart your computer using the boot keys specific to your device. These keys vary, but common ones include F8, F12, or Esc. Refer to your device’s documentation or search online for the correct key combination.

Once your device restarts, open Command Prompt in Administrator mode.

    Run the following two commands:

    shutdown /r /o

    shutdown /r /f /t 00

After the reboot, try enter your device with your password.

    1. If you can access your device after the reboot, reset your PIN:

Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.

Turn on Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up after an update if available.

    Then, reset your PIN.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
