Issues with Brother iPrint&Scan trying to connect to older version of Outlook instead of updated MS Outlook 365

We use the Brother iPrint&Scan scanner to scan documents to the computer. I recently upgraded our MS Office to 365 but now when I scan and the Brother software opens it won't allow it to attach to Outlook to sent an email. It shows "Outlook" as the option to use but when I select "attach to email" it gives me the error "CANNOT OPEN EMAIL APPLICATION" Failed to run the selected Email application. make sure the application is installed and then re-select it. I have no clue what to do as it is already selected but my guess is that it is the older version of Outlook that is selected. How do I use the newer 365 version of Outlook?

    Hello,

You may first try the following general steps:

    1. Set Outlook as the default email application on your computer.
    2. Install the latest drivers for your Brother printer.
    3. Ensure you are using a version of Outlook that is compatible with the Brother iPrint&Scan application.
    4. Temporarily disable any security software or firewalls that might be preventing the iPrint&Scan application from accessing Outlook.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, we recommend contacting Brother support directly for further assistance. For more information and support, visit: Brother Technical Support & Contact Information | Brother

    I hope this information helps.

    Best regards,

I get the same error trying to use the native Windows scanning utility so it's definitely a Microsoft problem. Get your stuff together Microsoft.
