Dell iDrac9, OpenManage & Windows Admin Manager, what is the best Combo?

Dear Community,

I currently building 3 sites, with 2 servers each. I intend to have HA in each site, and if both Servers in one site fail, fail over to a remote site. I intend to purchase Windows System Manager 2022.

  1. Is central monitoring with OpenManage or Windows Admin Manager a better platform for monitoring? What are the things that one can do, the other can't?
  2. Is Dell's iDrac9 DataCenter upgrade worth it? Is it very technically to look hardware performance log and make optimisations?
  3. Is the Paid version of OpenManage worth it in my scenario?

My end game is to centralise monitoring, and has the capability to see if any VM is reaching full CPU, GPU, Ram, Storage (storage capacity and speed) limit and any hardware need upgrading or resource reasigning.

I very much appreciate your recommendation on setting up strategy. I notice storage can be dynamic, and ram can be dynamic, but not CPU.

Many thanks,

Jason

    Hello,

As a Microsoft technical support, I can provide you with an introduction to WAC functions and related Case Studies:

Windows Admin Center(WAC), as a Microsoft tool that provides a centralized view for managing your Windows servers with a more user-friendly GUI. It's not limited to monitoring Dell hardware and is more versatile for managing various aspects of Windows environments, including VMs, storage, networking, etc.

Given that technologies and products continuously evolve, you may consider consulting with a solutions architect or a technical expert who can provide you with tailored advice based on a thorough assessment of your environment.
