Multiple Azure AD Connects Servers Coexisting?

Hello,

We're moving a bunch of servers. As a part of that effort, a couple Azure AD Connect VMs need to be "moved" into "the cloud" from our on-prem VMware vCenter environment.

My question is simply: can I just install new Azure AD Connect servers in the cloud, configure them to perform the same sync as the on-prem ones, and then turn off the old ones on-prem? Can multiple sync services be running against Azure AD at the same (two different servers, each syncing the same on-prem AD to Azure AD)?

Thanks
