Is there a way to verify a license key without activating the OS?

Hello,

We are a small business that builds and configures servers. We were just wondering if there is a way to verify any license keys for the different Windows Server OS's before trying to activate them. We have had a couple of instances where the license key was rejected and that has slowed us down in the past to fix before shipping out the unit.

Thank you

How are you getting the product key?

Are they from Microsoft Licensing portal or they are pre-installed on devices?

We actually provide the physical discs to customers as well. We usually will get them from a 3rd party seller but at times will get them from Microsoft as well.

It's the ones we receive from 3rd party sellers that we would like to verify if it was possible without using up the key

It is not easy as you only could verify the license after you attempt to activate it.

However, you may contact Microsoft Support in your country and check if they have any solution.

You my also look for trusted 3rd party and make sure they are verified by Microsoft.
