In File Explorer, has anyone run into the "Date modified" column for a folder not changing when a file or subfolder is added to it?

    Hello,

Is the disk where the folder is located an NTFS partition or a FAT32 partition? Also, how did you add the file or folder? If you use the Robocopy command to copy files and folders, the modification time of the parent folder will not be changed.

NTFS. For the folder, I right clicked in the parent folder and clicked New Folder. For the file, I created a notepad file, saved it to the desktop and dragged it to the parent folder.

    Hi RMack,

Thank you for your reply. I suggest you open cmd as an administrator and run the following command to check if there is a file system error.

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    sfc /scannow

In addition, in order to check whether the problem is related to the influence of third-party applications, it is recommended that you open the computer in clean mode for testing.
