I am trying to install 2024-02 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2016 (KB5034767) but it got failed by giving this error WU_E_UH_NEEDANOTHERDOWNLOAD. What another download it needs?

I tried to do manually as well but when it reaches 100% it says some updates were not able to install. I tried to start/stop wuauserv, cryptSvc, bits, msiserver, cryptsvc. I also tried to clear Software distribution folder but same result.

Let me know what else I need to do to update my server with this KB?

Hi Arun Kumar Rana - Admin,

the error message indicates that the update requires additional files to be downloaded before it can be installed. This could be due to missing or corrupted files on your system. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter to identify and fix any issues with Windows Update.
    2. Clear the Windows Update cache by stopping the Windows Update service, deleting the contents of the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" folder, and then restarting the Windows Update service.
    3. Download the update manually from Microsoft Update Catalog and install it manually.
    4. Check if there are any pending updates that need to be installed before you can install KB5034767.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,

    Lei

WRONG. I'm getting this same installation problem with the most recent MS update on BOTH of my computers, with the same error message. I've never had this kind of issue before. You guys had better take a closer look at this last update.

EDIT. KB5001716 is the recent update that failed on both of my computers. Not the one in the OP's post. Sorry.
