View photos stored on your NAS using the Photos app (legacy)

Colleagues, good afternoon.

I have long-standing problems with viewing photos stored on NAS, if I use the Photos app (previous version) for viewing.

It simply does not see many photos, showing only empty folders, although in fact there are photos there (and many photos).

Are there any ways to solve this problem specifically for this app?

    Hello,

First you need to make sure all photo files are in a supported format. The Photos app supports common image formats such as JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF. And try mapping a shared folder on the NAS as a network drive. This can be done via "This PC" > "Map network drive". Then, open the Photos app and check if it recognizes photos from this newly mapped drive. If the problem still cannot be solved, you can consider using other third-party image viewing software, such as IrfanView, XnView MP.

    Hello.

All files are only in supported formats.

The XNView MP application sees all folders and photos on both my NAS, I use it, there are no problems here. The problem is that I need the Photos application (legacy). It can do something that neither the modern Photos application nor XNView MP can do.

I have not tried mapping NAS disks yet, I will try this method. But the application does see some photos, so the problem is not in the fundamental unavailability of the network resource?

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. The old version of Photos application may not support all the image formats I mentioned above. I suggest you try upgrading it to the latest version to see if it can solve the problem.

All the graphic files stored on my NAS are of the same type - JPG from cameras of the same manufacturer. There are no others.

The legacy version of the Photos app has been updated, the modern Photos app, unfortunately, does not support two useful functions in the legacy app, and that is where the question arose.
