    Hi S Japerumal,

Windows Server 2022 Essentials is a great option for small businesses with up to 50 users and 100 devices. It provides essential features such as file and print sharing, remote access, and backup and restore capabilities. However, if your business requires more advanced features such as virtualization, clustering, or Active Directory Federation Services, you may want to consider the Standard version.

One of the main disadvantages of Essentials compared to Standard is that it only supports up to 2 processors and 64GB of RAM, whereas Standard supports up to 64 processors and 24TB of RAM. Additionally, Essentials does not support Hyper-V, Remote Desktop Services, or Active Directory Federation Services.

If you need to support more than 50 users, you will need to purchase the Standard version.

    Hope it helps.

    Kind regards,

    Lei

Your reply states that Remote Access capabilities are in Server Essentials, but that Remote Desktop is not?

Windows Server 2022 Essentials is an excellent choice for small businesses with up to 50 users and 100 devices. It offers essential features such as file and print sharing, remote access, and backup and restore capabilities.

However, if your business needs advanced features like virtualization, clustering, or Active Directory Federation Services, the Standard version would be more suitable. Unlike Essentials, which supports up to 2 processors and 64GB of RAM, the Standard version accommodates up to 64 processors and 24TB of RAM. Additionally, Essentials does not support Hyper-V, Remote Desktop Services, or Active Directory Federation Services.

For businesses with more than 50 users or requiring these advanced capabilities, upgrading to the Standard version is necessary.
