Bitlocker recovery

I did not set up a bitlocker code when I was setting up my computer. I have only logged in one time since I got the laptop. I’m not for sure what caused the bit locked recovery to show up because this laptop has only been turned on one time. I have tried to rest the computer but it will not let me do that either. I have also tried calling the support number but it keeps hanging up on me. I cannot register my laptop to my account on my phone for some reason. Is there a way around this issue?

    Hello Katlyn Cofell,

thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.

BitLocker is a full disk encryption feature included with Windows that helps protect your data by encrypting the drive. It's possible that BitLocker was automatically enabled when you set up your laptop, especially if you signed in with a Microsoft account. In your case, you'll need to retrieve your BitLocker recovery key by following the steps in Find your BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Support. Unfortunately, without the recovery key, it might be difficult to bypass BitLocker as it is designed to secure your data.

**Important:**Microsoft Support is unable to provide, or recreate, a lost BitLocker recovery key.

    Best regards,

    Lei

I have already tried that but there was no recovery key code there. So what am I supposed to do? This recovery key should have been part of the steps to set up the laptop not a setting that is automatically turned on to lock users out of there laptop

Unfortunately, if you can’t find the BitLocker recovery key and are unable to undo any changes that caused it to be needed, you’ll have to reset your device using one of the Windows recovery options. Resetting your device will remove all of your files.

Do you mean that you still have this issue after resetting your device?
