Server shutdown every week - license issue?

Hello,

I´ve migrated a physical Windows 21016 Essentials Server to 2 virtual machines. Should be possible with a standard license.

Since 27th of october the server shuts down each week. I have boot the old physical machine in the past for some data. Not sure if it fits in this time slot.

This is what I have found:

"Vom Prozess "C:\Windows\system32\silsvc.exe (WINSOLVENZ)" wurde auf Anforderung des Benutzers "NT-AUTORITÄT\SYSTEM" das Ereignis "Ausschalten" für den Computer "WINSOLVENZ" aus folgendem Grund initiiert: "Kein Titel für den Grund"

Ursachencode: "0x2000c"

Herunterfahrtyp: "Ausschalten"

With a normal Server 2016 Essentials license I could run 2 virtual machines. Or am I wrong?

I have read that with Essentials ther could be too much services which are causing this. Is this possible?

There is a MSSQL 2017 Server installed and liquidator software.

Where can I get support with such a license, not bought online?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

Oliver

    Hello Oliver,

It is possible that the issue is caused by too many services running on the server. You may need to review the services running on the server and disable any unnecessary ones.

Based on the error message you provided, it seems that the server shutdown is related to a licensing issue. The error message indicates that the server was shut down due to the License Compliance Service. I recommend reviewing our licensing documentation: https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/docs/view/Windows-Server

Note: For licensing inquiries, we recommend consulting with certified Microsoft licensing specialists or your vendor. Licenses constitute legal agreements between you and Microsoft. As tech support, our expertise lies in addressing technical issues, and we can offer only fundamental information.

    Hello Hania,

    Thansk for your reply.

I have deactivate all not necessary services and will check if this helps.

Is there a possibility to let this check from Microsoft license team? As I said, there shouldn´t be a license issue with 2 virtual machines. But do not want to make a mistake.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards

    Hello Oliver Koeck

In this case, it is still recommended that you contact the retailer from which you purchased the license.

If you need a professional team to carry out this check, you can contact:
