Keeping the same display setting for all users.

Hello,

In our classroom environment we have multiple teachers using one machine with two monitors. When users log in sometimes the screen setting will change anything from different resolutions to primary screens being changed. I have looked online but haven’t found any proper solutions. How can I get all the users cached or brand new to have the same display settings? Will this be achieved by using Group Policies or its there another solution?

Thank you for the help!

    Hello classroom environment,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Managing consistent display settings on a shared machine with multiple users can indeed be challenging.

Here are a few approaches you might consider:

1.Group Policies (GPO) can help enforce certain settings across user profiles in a Windows environment. However, GPOs are more commonly used for setting global configurations and may not cover all specific display settings. Unfortunately, resolutions and screen layouts are not typically managed directly through GPO.

2.You can try a custom script to define specific display settings, and if this script works,

Then set up the "logon script" via local group policy.

    3.Third-Party Tools

Consider using third-party tools that can manage and enforce multi-monitor setups more robustly than built-in tools. Some popular options include:

    DisplayFusion

    Ultramon

These tools often come with features to save and restore monitor configurations, which can be automated at login.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
