Tasks that run on Windows 2019 took longer than running on Windows 2012R2

Hi,
We are migrating servers from Windows 2012R2 to Windows 2019. We tried both in-place upgrade and brand new installation to Window Server Standard 2019. The tasks that access CIFS shares run on Windows 2019 took longer that running on Windows 2012R2 from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Do you have any suggestions what new features that can cause the performance issue?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to performance.

Windows Server 2019 supports SMB 3.1.1, if your clients negotiate an older SMB version (e.g., SMB 2.0), it might impact performance. Also, if your network infrastructure supports RDMA, consider enabling SMB Direct.

Also, install the latest cumulative updates and your storage and networking device drivers.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
