I recently updated my Windows Server 2016 Standard, and after installing security update KB5041773, my server keeps rebooting automatically. I tried to uninstall this update, but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone assist me in fixing this issue?

    Hello Varunprakash Shanmugam,

thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.

To resolve this issue, here are some steps you can try:

    1. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:
      • Open Settings and go to "Update & Security -> Troubleshoot".
      • Run the "Windows Update" troubleshooter and apply any recommendations.
    2. Boot into Safe Mode:
      • Restart the server.
      • During the boot process, press F8 (or Shift + F8) to access the Advanced Boot Options menu.
      • Select "Safe Mode" and see if the problem persists in this mode.
    3. Use System Restore:
    • Boot into Safe Mode.
    • Go to Control Panel -> System and Security -> System -> System Protection.
    • Click on "System Restore" and choose a restore point prior to the installation of KB5041773.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,

I tried to restore the previous update from safe mode, but it kept restarting repeatedly, so I just reinstalled the OS and did not install that specific update alone.

Unfortunately neither of those issues are what we are experiencing. Its just booting windows normally. No dual boot or linux involved.
