Window Server Licensing

Hi,

I have:

  1. Dell Server with 36C/72T x 2.
  2. Window Server 2022 Standard Edition license x 8.

My question are:

  1. Is the license sufficient to spin up 1 Window Server 2022 ?
  2. I have 8 pack of the license, how to merge and apply the license ?

    Hi beckenbauer91,

    1.You should have enough licenses to spin up one instance of Windows Server 2022 on your server. Each instance of Windows Server requires a minimum of 8 cores to run, and your server has a total of 36 cores, which is well within the licensing limits.

    2.You can apply the licenses by using the Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT). It allows you to manage and activate multiple licenses at once. VAMT technical reference - Windows Deployment | Microsoft Learn provides detailed instructions on how to use the VAMT.
