Unable to access directory and its subscription

I have been using azure account with my personal email ID for personal learning use.

Recently in the azure portal access section by mistake I changed my access to something that I can recall to "internal access type" since then I have lost access to my complete directory itself. I am still able to switch to other directories but not able to see directory in which I changed my access.

I am still being charged for that directory and subscriptions within the same (that is obvious as I have resources running within the same), how can I gain my access back to lost directory and its subscriptions.

Please assist.

Thank you

    Hello @NIKHIL KUMAR,

Thank you for connecting with us offline regarding this issue.

As we discussed over the call, you were unable to log in to the Azure Portal with your personal account after changing its status to "Internal User." As a result, you lost directory access, and it was no longer visible in your directory list.

After checking your Subscription ID, we identified another Global Admin user UPN. Using this account, we attempted a password reset, which successfully restored your access to both your directory and subscription.

To ensure future recoverability, we also created a new user and assigned it the Global Administrator role as a backup in case any issues arise with your existing account.

Finally, we navigated to your personal account, updated the status back to "External User," and verified that you could once again see the directory in your list and log in successfully without any issues.

I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
