As of 3/9/2025, I am trying to learn and finish the Exercise - Explore the Learn sandbox and facing this error. In this explore the "Sandbox" exercise, I have pressed the "activate sandbox" button and all activation processes are completed successfully. However, the half screen prompt me to "sign in" with a footnote "If your account doesn't have a registered learn profile, this process will complete that for you". I pressed "sign in" and input usual account/password, it prompts me back the same screen "sign in" windows again. It is going into a loop. Therefore, I am not able to work on Sandbox successfully. How to resolve the issue?
Hi Anil,
You should be able to work around the issue by first Activating the sandbox (solving puzzles, reviewing permissions, etc.) and then once you see the sign-in box appear on the right open a new browser tab. In this new tab, browse to https://shell.azure.com. If your existing sandbox hasn't expired you can use that instead of activating a new one.
When prompted, click Bash (The exercise uses PowerShell and Bash. You can switch between them using button at top of cloud shell window)
Next choose No storage account required, for Subscription select Concierge Subscription, and click Apply.
After several seconds delay while a cloud shell is requested and connected to, you should see $ prompt. At this point you can complete the exercises instructions, copy/paste code from exercise tab to cloud shell tab as needed, etc.

While most of the things worked, I did not see the option of "Concierge Subscription". I did see my default Subscription that got created when I opened up the free Azure account. When I selected that option, I got the following:
Please click the gear icon in upper right corner, and Switch to "Microsoft Learn Sandbox" directory. The sandbox needs to still be active
I did switch to "Microsoft Learn Sandbox" and it made me redo the microsoft authenticator app and added a Mcrosoft Learn Sandbox. Once I authenticated using that, I am able to move forward as workaround (as a separate session) even though the earlier problem persists.

That sounds correct. They recently added MFA requirement on the sandbox. The split-screen cloud shell window will not work until Microsoft fixes it. They have not given a time estimate for fixing it.

Using the workaround provided, I made some progress but during the exercise to create an Azure Resource, I get another error message,
Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '18fbca16-2224-45f6-85b0-f7bf2b39b3f3' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.
In Create an Azure resource exercise, you first Activate sandbox (if one isn't still active) and then navigate to Azure portal to create the resource.
You should be able to create the VM in the portal using Concierge Subscription despite that error message being shown on the exercise page. Are you unable to?
