SaveAsAdobePDF.xlam Loading issue

When a user opens Excel app on Mac 2016 after startup, they receive a window that says Loading: SaveAsAdobePDF.xlam. The window does not show loading complete nor does it close. In the meantime the Excel app will open, but cannot be edited or saved. The user will have to force quit the app, then restart. After that, the app will open and function as normal.

We have removed the Excel Add-in Saveasadobepdf from the Developer tab and the window no longer appears, but I wanted to investigate if this may be a larger issue or if this Add-in may create further problems for more users.

I have this same issue on Excel for Mac (v16.82, Office 365 subscription). I UNCHECKED Saveasadobepdf in the dialog accessed from Excel's menubar item "Tools/Excel Add-Ins...", yet it STILL keeps crashing Excel when it starts up (randomly). Ridiculous.

    Thank you for your response,

We have several users on the same (most-updated) version of Acrobat. So far only one user has reported this issue.

If this add-in is created by Acrobat and Adobe, I can bring this up on their forums as well.

    Thanks again for this answer.

I have been having this issue for over a year. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Office 365 and I added the Adobe PDF add-in to Excel and the message still appears. I also have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader on my computer. I'm unsure what to do next.
