    Hi,

Did this appear in all Word documents?

How did you confirm this is related to macro in Word?

I suggest you go to File- Options- Trust Center- Trust Center Settings- Macro Settings- Select Disable all macros with notification and restart Word to see if the status bar displays correctly.

Then you can also try to reset the Word Normal template, it includes default styles and customizations that determine the basic look of a document.

Go to the file location C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates- Rename/move the Normal.dotm- then restart Word, it will create a new normal.dotm file and reset Word customization settings.

Does the problem remain if you start Word in application Safe mode? If not, continue troubleshooting COM and Startup add-ins, as discussed in the article at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/troubleshoot/word/issues-when-start-or-use-word.
