Hi @Maciej Kacperski,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I will answer them one by one.
- yes, Microsoft has announced that Exchange Server 2019 reaches its end-of-support date on October 14, 2025. After that date, Microsoft will no longer provide technical support, bug fixes, and security patches for Exchange Server 2019.
- After the end of support date of October 14, 2025, MS Exchange Server 2019 will not be available for purchase from the Microsoft Official Store or through partners.
- Exchange Server SE is an edition for local deployments and is scheduled to be available in the third quarter of 2025. So its planned version is available in local editions and organizations can upgrade their local Exchange Server 2019 to Exchange Server SE.
- Licensing for Exchange Server SE is the same as for Exchange Server 2019, with one exception: Microsoft no longer offers licenses for purchase only. For Exchange Server SE, in addition to purchasing the required Server licenses and CALs, customers must maintain an active subscription. There is no mention in the official documentation of offering a perpetual license model.
- Hybrid licensing allows for hybrid functionality, combining on-premises environments with the cloud. It allows organizations to run both local Exchange Server SE and Exchange Online (Office 365) at the same time, e.g. migrating some mailboxes to the cloud while retaining the local server.
