PowerShell Repository Not Working on Windows 11

The PowerShell repository is not working with Windows 11. I tried running some commands, like whomi, but it's not working. Please provide a fix so that I can deploy it on a large scale.

What is the error you are getting exactly? im not familiar with "whomi" command. you sure that is correct?

There are a number of web sites that show up if you search for "whomi", but I don't think that's what you meant. Did you mean "WhoAmI"?

"WhoAmI" is a utility delivered as part of Windows. PowerShell is just a shell, as is cmd.exe. Does it work if run from cmd.exe?

You aren't going to get a lot of help unless you provide more information, like any error messages you receive when you try to run whoami.

Also, are you running Windows PowerShell (powershell.exe) or PowerShell 7 (pwsh.exe)?

The error says that this command is not recognize.

Can you tell us what you expect the command "whomi" to do?

Try "whoAmi":

Description:

This utility can be used to get user name and group information along with the respective security identifiers (SID), claims, privileges, logon identifier (logon ID) for the current user on the local system. I.e. who is the current logged on user? If no switch is specified, tool displays the user name in NTLM format (domain\username).

See below:

# "whoAmi" (an actual Windows/DOS command)
PS C:\Users\richm> whoami
ws06\richm

# "whomi" (I don't know what this is supposed to do, or where you found it!)
PS C:\Users\richm> whomi
whomi : The term 'whomi' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check
the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Windows PowerShell may not open on Windows 11 if the installation files are corrupted. Uninstall and reinstall to restore normal operation, refer to the following steps:

Step 1: Press the Windows key, search for optional features, and click to open it.

Step 2: Expand Windows PowerShell ISE under "Added Features" and click Remove to uninstall it.

Step 3: Restart your computer, download the Windows PowerShell MSI package from Microsoft, and reinstall it. User's image

Thank you for sharing your suggestions, but I want you to provide a fix for the built-in PowerShell issue. If the fix is a script, I can deploy it on a large scale to resolve the issue.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I would like to confirm again whether there is any error in the command you entered and confirm that it is whoami instead of whomi, because whomi is not a powershell command that will cause this error message.
