Monitoring On-prem servers in Azure environment using azure native tools

Hi Team,

We are trying to monitor on-prem servers in azure by setting alerts on health and CPU/memory utilization might be few more metrics.

I need a detailed information on enabling monitoring for the om-prem servers and the prerequisites.

What could be mandatory alerts to be involved to monitor these machines.

Azure provides several native tools for monitoring on-premises servers in an Azure environment. The primary service used for this purpose is Azure Monitor, which collects, analyzes, and acts on telemetry data from both cloud and on-premises resources.

To monitor on-premises servers, you would typically use the Microsoft Monitoring Agent (MMA) to collect telemetry data and push it to a Log Analytics workspace in Azure Monitor. Within this workspace, you can enable various monitoring solutions tailored for specific scenarios, such as Azure Update Management and Azure Security Center. These solutions provide insights and monitoring capabilities for all servers reporting to the workspace.

Additionally, Azure Monitor for VMs provides specific insights for virtual machines, and you can also utilize the Dependency agent for enhanced monitoring functionalities. This setup allows you to manage and monitor your on-premises servers effectively alongside your Azure resources.
