Unable to delete Load Balancers created by Azure Lab Services (Advanced Networking)

After deleting two Azure Lab Services environments (with Advanced Networking),

I’m left with two Load Balancers in my subscription that cannot be deleted.

According to the error message, these Load Balancers reference VMSS resources that were part of the original lab environments,

but those VMSS instances are in a Microsoft-managed subscription and cannot be accessed or removed by me.

Since the backend pools are still pointing to those VMSS instances, the Load Balancers are stuck.

I'm requesting help from Microsoft to forcibly remove these orphaned dependencies.

I can provide full resource IDs (Load Balancer and VMSS) upon request,

but have excluded them here in case they violate Q&A posting guidelines.

    Hello, @Sunggyu Cho !

What should I do if I'm unable to delete Load Balancers created by Azure Lab Services (Advanced Networking)?

If you want to delete the load balancer and your problem is that the backend pool is referencing the VMSS in the Azure Lab Subscription (ALS), then the recommendation would be to remove the backend pool from the load balancer before trying to delete it. To delete it, go to the load balancer and then the backend pools and click on the delete button there.

If you are unable to do so because the resources are in an Azure managed subscription and you are encountering an error similar to this:

Failed to delete load balancer backend pool 'mypool'.

Error: Cannot remove backend address pool mypool from load balancer since it is in use by virtual machine scale set /subscriptions/...

Please start a thread so that we can delete the resource for you.
