There's currently no supported way to automatically merge or transfer your personal Skype contacts and chat history into Teams. Here’s what you need to know and some options you can consider:
- Separation of Services:
• Skype (the consumer version) and Teams are separate products. Although both may share the same Microsoft account and interoperate to some extent, Skype chats, contacts, and call histories aren’t automatically imported into the Teams interface.
• The migration process invoked by Microsoft (often seen for organizations moving from Skype for Business to Teams) doesn’t apply to personal Skype accounts.
- What Happens Upon Migration:
• When you selected the Teams account during the migration process, Teams was opened but did not include your existing Skype contacts and conversations because that data remains in your Skype account.
• Your Teams environment is set up independently, and Microsoft has not built an automatic “merge my Skype account into Teams” feature for personal use.
