I have purchased Asus Vivobook go 14 Laptop 10-11 months back, and back then Company has activated Bitlocker by themselves. They haven't shared any details regarding the key at that time. They have entered their account at the time of activation, and now, they don't have access to their own account nor they have any data regarding the same. All my important data is in the laptop and due to the same issue can't access any of the data. While turning on the Laptop I get BSOD saying "Critical error died" and then Bit Locker screen comes up.

    Hello,

I can suggest a few steps you might take:

    1. Verify with Your Organization or Vendor:

     • Since the laptop was initially set up by the company (or by a service on their behalf), check if there’s an IT support department or a helpdesk that might have the recovery key saved or archived on their management system.

     • If you’re no longer in contact with that department, see if you have any support or warranty documentation for the device that might indicate who to contact for BitLocker-related issues.

    1. Check for Microsoft Account or Enterprise Recovery Options:

     • BitLocker recovery keys are sometimes linked to a Microsoft Account if that option was set up during configuration. If you think this might be the case, log into account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey from another computer and check if the key is listed there.

     • If a company-specific Microsoft account or an Azure AD account was used, you might need to contact your organization’s IT administrator to look up the BitLocker recovery key in the recovery portal.

    1. Search for Any Local Records:

     • Sometimes, when BitLocker is initially configured, the key may be printed or saved to a USB drive, or even stored in a secure network location. Check any documentation you might have received with the laptop.

     • Look through any emails or paperwork received when you purchased the device—sometimes clues about the recovery process or key storage are included.

    1. Consider the BSOD Details:

     • The BSOD error “Critical error died” could indicate additional issues with the system hardware or software that might be complicating access. If possible, try to boot into advanced recovery options (via Windows Recovery Environment) to see if further diagnostics are available.

     • It may be helpful to note down any error codes or details from the BSOD to share with technical support, as that information can sometimes guide troubleshooting.

    1. Data Recovery Service:

     • If the data on your laptop is extremely important and no one has the key, you might explore professional data recovery services. Be aware that without the recovery key, even specialists may not be able to decrypt the data due to BitLocker’s strong encryption.
