We are experiencing difficulties retrieving the Expiration Status from the Compliance Details of a document in SharePoint. Our goal is to extract this Expiration Status so that we can utilize it in a KQL query or an API call to obtain relevant information. How to get there: when you right-click on a document, a menu appears. From there, you click on More, then Compliance Details, which opens a pop-up displaying document details (see attached screenshot). This includes a label and an Expiration Status, showing a date formatted like this: Item will expire on 13-02-2029.

Understanding the Expiration Status is crucial for us because we intend to apply specific rules that determine the appropriate retention label based on the Expiration Status date. To achieve this, we need a reliable method to access and retrieve this information programmatically.

Could someone provide guidance or a solution on how we can efficiently extract the Expiration Status from SharePoint’s compliance details?

I have done a lot of searching and research, but I have not found any OOTB solution or available workaround. Currently, the SharePoint tag of the forum focuses on general issues of Microsoft SharePoint. This relatively complex function implementation is beyond our capabilities. We recommend that you go to the Partner Center to get a customized service experience. I appreciate your patience and understanding.
