Hi, I received a mail for the upgrade of assistants from v1 to v2....can someone please share some steps and points to remember when doing this?

The assistants I am creating are going to the version-

2024-05-01-preview

although my models are deployed for 2025-01-01-preview, what is the version for v2? exactly?

and how will it impact v1 version models?

This is my assistant on foundry

and the models i am using-

Please clarify the following-

My models have the above endpoint and the api version is 2025-01-01

But in the description of these models -
2024-12-01-preview

is being used? why?

The assistants are using- 2024-05-01-preview?

What is the correct api version for v2 assistants? and why 2024-12-01-preview is being used in the getting started example? and if the models are deployed for 2025 version why assistants are using 2024-05-01-preview? kindly help!!

ALSO how can I migrate from v1 to v2?

Hi thanks for replying so the 2024-05-01-preview , is the v2 assistant version. So what is 2025-01-01 version ?? Solely model version ????

Also this means I am already using v2 - but then why we have no capability for file search?

I cannot search file!

Hi thanks for checking in again. There is a problem for the assistants- I am using the file_search option as retrieval is not supported. Still file search capability is not there.

and for retrieval it is stating that it is not supported.

The model versions I am using are-

So image_vision and file_search not working.

The file search feature is available as part of Azure OpenAI Assistants and enables retrieval of relevant content from uploaded files. To use this capability, ensure your files are properly uploaded, a vector store is created, and you're using the correct API version—specifically, version 2024-05-01-preview or later.

As for the image vision capability, there is no mention of an "image_vision" feature in the current context, so its availability or support cannot be confirmed at this time.

If you're still encountering issues, verify that the models and API versions in use are compatible with the features you're trying to access.
