Phone number verification issue when signing up for Azure

Hello,

I’m trying to create a free Azure account, but I can’t complete phone number verification. After entering my number and clicking "Send me a code by SMS", I get the following message: "We’re unable to verify your phone number. Enter the verification code again or try a different number."

I’ve checked the country code and number format and tried several times, but it didn’t help.

Could you please help me resolve this issue and complete my registration?

    Here are some additional information:

    You can use any phone number for verification as long as it meets the requirements. The phone number that you enter for verification isn't stored as a contact number for the account.

    • A Voice-over-IP (VoiP) phone number can't be used for the phone verification process
    • Check that your phone can receive calls or SMS messages from a United States-based telephone number.
    • Double-check the phone number that you enter, including the country code that you select in the drop-down menu.
    • If your phone doesn't receive text messages (SMS), try the Call me option.

    Make sure to select the right country code in the drop-down and enter the phone number without the country code.

    One option might be to call Microsoft's Global Support: Global Customer Service phone numbers

    Maybe they are able to help.

    Another option might be to give it a try with using a smartphone or a different device and a "private/incognito window" of the browser to get the registration/validation done.

    I've noticed a couple of questions/threads related to this issue in the past. But none of them gave an answer how to fix this or if it was fixed at all.
