Upgrading from Basic to Standard

When updating the public ip from basic to standard I have to dissociate the IP. When I do the update can I associate the same IP back to the VM?

Can I reach out to support if it fails? Is this going to create a case or is it just a Q&A?

    Hi Andrew,

The IP stays the same, and once upgraded you may Associate it back to the VM. After upgrade is complete you may click Associate button on the public IP address Overview blade to link it back to the VM's network interface. Please see screenshot below in regards to IP being retained:

In terms of support if you have Developer level then you would post your question here to receive support (within 8 business hours). If you have Standard level or higher you would open a support case via the portal and can specify higher severity resulting in faster response.
