Activate Windows Server 2019 Standard Evaluation with Windows Server 2022 Standard License

I currently have a server running Windows Server 2019 Standard Evaluation. Since I couldn't obtain a license for this version, I proceeded to purchase a Windows Server 2022 Standard license, which I was told could be used for the aforementioned version. However, when I try to activate Windows Server 2019 Standard Evaluation, it says that the license does not correspond to the operating system version.

Is there any extra step that needs to be taken to activate Windows Server 2019 Standard Evaluation with a Windows Server 2022 Standard license?

Unfortunately, performing a clean installation of Windows Server 2022 is not an option as the server is running and being used 24/7.

If it is not possible to activate with this license, is it possible to upgrade Windows Server 2019 Standard Evaluation to Windows Server 2022 Standard and then activate it?

I was told that one option was to use a temporary Windows KMS key to switch from Windows Server 2019 Standard Evaluation to Windows Server 2019 Standard and then activate it with the purchased license, but I am not sure if this is correct and I did not want to risk it and then not be able to revert to the trial version to continue using it until I solve the problem.

Any ideas to solve this problem are welcome.
