Subject: Issue recreating Azure Custom Domain resource after deletion

We purchased a domain through Azure last year. An attempt to move its associated Custom Domain resource to a new Resource Group failed. Consequently, we deleted the Custom Domain resource from the original RG. The domain registration remains active at secureserver.net, and we've received a renewal notification. However, attempts to recreate the Custom Domain resource in the intended target RG consistently fail with an x-ms-correlation-request-id error. Please advise on how to re-link this existing domain by creating the Azure resource without initiating a new purchase, and how to proceed with the renewal.

thanks in advance
BR -Vince

    Hi @vrithner
To re-link your existing domain by creating the Azure Custom Domain resource without initiating a new purchase, ensure that the domain is still associated with your Azure subscription. Since you deleted the Custom Domain resource, you can recreate it under the same subscription if the domain was deleted fewer than seven days ago. If it has been more than seven days, contact Azure support for assistance in restoring the domain.

Regarding the x-ms-correlation-request-id error, this could be related to the recent deletion of the Custom Domain resource. Check for any lingering configurations or dependencies that could be causing the failure. Ensure that the domain correctly points to the app's IP address and that your DNS settings are properly configured.

For domain registration renewal, since it remains active at secureserver.net, follow the renewal process as instructed by your domain registrar.

    Hi @vrithner,
    As per this GitHub
You will not be charged again for this domain (if domain was deleted less than 7 days ago).
