Dear Azure MVP,

I'm just testing trying to create a virtual machine, but at the end I'm getting an error.

"Operation could not be completed as at results in exceeding approved standard DLSv5Family Cores quota."

Attached some screenshots. Thank you.

    Hi Jamie,

If you want to use that VM size you may request a quota increase for the region you need. You could also choose a different VM size that you already have available quota for.

To request quota increase for DLSv5Family you can start by navigating to below link:

    https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Capacity/QuotaMenuBlade/~/myQuotas

Once there, click the Region filter at top and set it to the region you want (East Asia), and then in the search box enter dlsv5, similar to below:

    enter image description here

Click the pencil icon to the right to request increase. You need to decide how many cores to request. For example, if you want to have two instances of Standard_D2ls_v5 in East Asia then you would request 4 vCPUs.

Please note that there is a regional vCPU quota in addition to specific VM family quota. When you attempt to create a VM you are subject to both limits. For example, your regional vCPU quota for East Asia may be total of 10 vCPUs, so in order to be able to create the VM you must have available regional vCPU quota AND available DLSv5Family quota.

Please see article below for more information.

    Thanks.
