I am experiencing a recurring issue with Microsoft Teams and Outlook notifications on my iPhone (running the latest iOS version) that appears to be directly related to activating the Global Administrator role via Azure Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

Issue Description

Whenever I activate the Global Administrator role through PIM:

  • Teams and Outlook notifications stop functioning as expected.
  • I only receive generic banners like "You have a new notification" without any specific content.
  • In some cases, the notification appears even though there is no actual message or activity.
  • This behavior resolves after the PIM elevation expires or is deactivated, and normal notification functionality resumes. (Usually after 24 hours)

This issue occurs consistently and seems linked specifically to the elevated PIM session. I’ve confirmed the issue on an up-to-date iPhone with the latest versions of Microsoft Teams and Outlook.

Troubleshooting Steps Attempted

  • Verified app and OS are fully updated.
  • Reinstalled both Teams and Outlook.
  • Reset notification settings.
  • Confirmed proper permissions and notification settings on iOS.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists.
