reinstall publisher

Just bought a new computer. I was directed here from the community page which has the same question. I purchased a new computer and specifically asked for Office 2021 because i still need to use publisher, even if not supported, or at least need to get back in before the October sunset. Instead I received single license Office pro plus 2024. I have the prior stand alone publisher 2013 license, but it won't let me install both at once? I paid for both. PLEASE. there is no useful alternative in office, and the formatting in publisher is what matters, powerpoint and word do not have these features, and can't read the PUB files formatting, which we have all spent years perfecting. Please find a work around? Can i get a key for office 2021? is there a version of publisher that would that work? From the community post it seems that installing publisher first did not work for others.

    Hi arthur moswin,

    Welcome to our forum!

Since you already have a standalone Publisher 2013 license, you should be able to install it alongside Office 2024, but you may need to tweak the installation order:

    1. Uninstall Office 2024 temporarily (back up your files first).
    2. Install Publisher 2013 first (as a standalone application).
    3. Reinstall Office 2024—it should coexist since Publisher 2013 is a separate product.
    4. If blocked, try installing Office 2024 in "Online Repair" mode via Control Panel > Programs > Microsoft 365 > Change > Online Repair.

If coexistence fails, you may want to set up a Windows 10/11 VM (Virtual Machine) and install Office 2021 or Publisher 2013 there.

    Hope it helps.
