Hi @Patrick Mineer
Thanks for your Update.
If auto-renew is enabled for an App Service domain, it will be renewed automatically on the day after expiration. This is expected behavior and does not affect domain functionality. Exception: For .nl
domains, renewal must occur before expiration, otherwise the domain enters the redemption phase immediately and cannot be auto-renewed.
If a customer is concerned about expiration and auto-renew is enabled, we can reassure them that the domain will be automatically renewed the following day.
App Service Domain Renewal After Expiration If the domain expired and auto-renewal was not enabled, here is what happens next (excluding .nl
domains, which go directly to redemption after expiration):
Domain Expiration Timeline (per GoDaddy): What happens when my domain expires – GoDaddy
Day 1–5: No service impact. Domain is still active.
Day 5: DNS records are removed; domain is redirected to a GoDaddy parked page.
Days 6–18: Customer can still renew the domain directly in the Azure Portal.
Let me know if you have any further assistances.
