Hi, I am trying to log into the Authenticator app, but the only way to verify when signing in is to have a code sent to the Authenticator app. I am the global admin for this account and cannot ask an admin for help since that is me. I had an old phone set up on the Authenticator app but have upgraded my phone and didn't think I'd run into this issue. I no longer have that phone as it was a trade-in. I cannot manually turn off MFA either because in order to log in to that page, I need to verify via Authenticator app and it's just one big loop that never ends.

The recommended method is to contact an Administrator from your organization to restore your account. As you already mentioned that you are the Administrator, or cannot contact the Administrator at this time, you can try the following steps to self recover your account:

    • Navigate to the Microsoft Sign-In Helper and click the button that says 'Sign-In Helper'
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to recover your account
      • If you are unable to self-recover your account, you will be prompted to contact an Agent
    • Depending on the level of the compromise, you may still be able to get into your account using your existing recovery methods by clicking here.
