How to change mailFrom display name? How to increase email service quota without a standard support plan?

I have an email communication service with custom domain configured successfully. I can send email from this custom ******@mycustomdomain.com.

However, the display name is DoNotReply and I cannot change it; nor I can add new mailFomr address. The button is grey out.

Question 1: How do I change the display name?

Also, in the case that I want to increase quota and I don't have a standard support plan -- where i don't have an option to submit incident ticket. How can I request to increase quota?

    Hi Celine,

You need to request increase of your sending limits before you will be able to add new From address.

You can use instructions below to submit request to increase your limits, which is prerequisite for adding additional from addresses. Below method works even with Basic or Developer level support.

Please carefully follow instructions below to create a new Service and subscription limits (quotas) request to increase quota for Azure Communication Services.

    1. Navigate to this link to start the process:

    https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade/~/overview

    2. Click Create a support request button at top

    User's image

    3. If you see Support AI Assistant as shown below, click Switch to old experience button on right. If not, proceed to step #4

    User's image

    4. Enter quota in the box and click Go

    User's image

    5. Select Others / Service and subscription limits (quotas) and click Next

    User's image

    6. Click Create a support request button, as shown

    User's image

    7. Select Issue type: Service and subscription limits (quotas), Subscription: <subscription that needs quota increase>, Quota type: Other Requests, click Next

    User's image

    8. Open Notepad (or other text editor). Navigate to Email quota increase article, click Copy button in upper right to copy text, and Paste it into Notepad. Add your company info to the file and answer all questions, then save to a .txt file on your computer.

    9. On Additional details tab. Enter description for your request, click folder icon next to File upload box, and select .txt file you created in step#8.

    User's image

    10. Finish filling out Additional details tab, click Next, review and click Create. You should receive an automated email within a few minutes. It may take 72 hours for response regarding increasing your limits/allowing additional From addresses.

Please click Accept Answer and upvote if the above was helpful.

    Thanks.

@Prabhavathi Manchala I have a followup for question 1. This is what I see in my custom domain MailFrom setting. I cannot add/edit/delete any MailFrom like you suggested. i want to change the displayName here.

What are the best next step? What is blocking me from changing it?

    Hi Celine Wei,

You're right, In ACS Email, the display name DoNotReply is set when configuring the custom domain and can't be changed later. Once a custom email is added and verified, it can't be edited or replaced without deleting and reconfiguring it.

1). To change the display name, delete the existing mailFrom entry and add a new one with the desired name.

-> In the Azure Portal -> go to your Communication Services resource and open Email -> Domains, then select your custom domain.

-> Under Mail From Address, delete the current sender, then click Add to re-enter the same email with the new display name.

2). Azure ACS Email has a default daily limit 10,000 emails. You can request a higher quota through the portal using the Quota Request.

    1. Go to Azure Help + Support

    Choose:

    • Issue Type: Service and subscription limits (quotas)
    • Subscription: Choose your subscription
    • Service: Communication Services
    • Quota type: Email
    1. Describe your request to increase quota and submit
