Hi Team,
Within API driven apps, can we use attribute mapping to build the expression which will calculate if the user with same name is already present in Entra ID or not. If user is present in Entra ID then, generate the unique counter for email address value
For example: , if the user's name is John Doe, the generated email address will be: Doe_J@xxxx.xxxx. Expression within attribute mapping with check if , if doe_j@xxxx.xxxx already exist in Entra ID. If yes, then we will generate the other value with unique counter : ******@xxxx.xxxx

Microsoft Entra ID's provisioning service offers the SelectUniqueValue function, which attempts multiple value generation rules and returns the first unique value found. It automatically checks if the generated value already exists. It appends numeric counters (1, 2, 3, etc.) to ensure uniqueness.

API-driven provisioning to on-premises Active DirectorySelectUniqueValue is available in certain provisioning contexts. So, if you're using a custom or unsupported application, this function may not be operational.
