I have midi device bought back on 2006 and happily used until early 2017 in XP, Windows 7, 8.1 and lastly windows 10. After one of the major windows update my device stop detected by W10. At first i forget device is using windows  generic drivers and i contacted the hardware support. They answered nothing to do with them, device uses windows generic drivers.

Now: maybe every 10 windows start 2 of them will recognize the device so i can use, 8 of them won't detect. The device is ESI M4U

    Hi Arik,

The challenge you're experiencing with using your MIDI on your Windows 10 PC might be due to a driver compatibility issue. That being said, we'll need more details to properly address your concern. Kindly answer the following:

    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • Are you using a third-party software to operate the device?
    • Have you tried running the troubleshooter for hardware and devices?
    • What is the OS Build of your Windows 10 PC? To verify this information by clicking the Start button, type winver, and then press Enter.

The troubleshooter for hardware and devices will scan and fix your PC for any hardware or device driver misconfiguration. Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

    1. Click the Start button.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Select Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    4. Under Get up and running, select Windows Update.
    5. Click Run the troubleshooter.
    6. If prompted, click Yes or enter the administrator password.
    7. Follow the on-screen instruction.

You can also access the troubleshooter online from this **link**.

We'll be waiting for your reply.

Have you checked if your device is tested for Windows 10 Creators update?

You can check with your manufacturer or you can wait for the next windows update that may fix this.
