hi,

I am trying to open a new Azure account with my company email.

When I login it does not allow me to access anything

The logged in user is not authorized to fetch tokens for extension 'Microsoft_Azure_Support' because the user account is not a member of tenant 'TenantID'. Error details: AADSTS50020 ....

    Hi @Roderick Caruana

This error message typically occurs when a user tries to access Azure resources using personal account or user may not registered with Azure account, may I know have you created a Azure account and provided the details like phone number, email and payment details?
If this is the case, you need to follow below the steps here: Cause 1: Users log in to Microsoft Entra admin center by using personal Microsoft Accounts

As you mentioned you are trying to create a new Azure account with your work email, so here might be the issue happen because your work email is already an Azure account which is created by you organization admin and has Restrict access the portal. If this the case, you need to reach your organization admin and ask to allow the access.

If you've followed all the steps and the issue still persists, try signing out and signing back in. If that doesn't resolve it, clear your browser history and cache, then try again. Alternatively, switching to a different browser may help.r.

    1. Verify your account type

Are you signing in with a personal Microsoft account (like @outlook.com, @live.com) or a work/school account tied to your company's Azure AD tenant?

The error indicates you might be using a personal Microsoft account that is not part of your company’s Azure AD tenant.

    1. Use a company/organizational account

If your company uses Azure AD, try signing in with your work or school account that your company IT/admin gave you (usually your company email is configured as an organizational account).

If you don’t have one, contact your IT admin to get access or be invited as a guest user.

    1. Get invited to the tenant

Ask your company’s Azure AD administrator to add your account as a guest/external user to the Azure AD tenant.

Once added, you’ll receive an invitation to accept, and then you can access the Azure portal under that tenant.

    1. Create a new Azure tenant (if applicable)

If you are supposed to create a new Azure account/tenant independently (like a brand new subscription for your company), make sure you sign up with an account that isn’t already linked to another tenant or personal Microsoft account.

Sometimes it’s better to start with a new organizational email or a dedicated work account to avoid conflicts.

    1. Clear browser cache or try incognito/private browsing

Sometimes, cached credentials cause token or tenant confusion.

Sign out completely from all Microsoft accounts and try signing in again with the correct account.
