Can't Leave or Remove Old School Azure Directory (Email Deleted)

Hi,

I’m trying to remove or leave an old Azure Active Directory tenant that was created via a school account several years ago. The email account that was used to create it (a school email) is now permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

When I try to leave the directory from my Microsoft account, I get blocked because Microsoft wants me to sign in with the deleted school email address.

I have a new Azure for Students subscription and can use that directory without issues, but the old one keeps showing up and I want it completely removed from my account.

Azure support forms won’t let me submit, and general Microsoft support keeps referring me to US phone numbers that I can’t call from my region.

How can I get the old tenant removed or at least detached from my account?

I understand you're trying to leave or remove an old Microsoft Entra Directory tenant that was created using a school email account several years ago. Since that school email is now permanently deleted and cannot be recovered, you're currently blocked from leaving the directory because Microsoft requires you to sign in with the deleted email address.

To delete the old directory associated with your school account, you must have access to a Global Administrator account within the tenant. If you don’t have access, you’ll need to contact someone who does such as another Global Administrator to remove the old directory.

If you are the only Global Administrator of that tenant, then this is considered a tenant lockout scenario. In such cases, we will need to involve the Microsoft Data Protection team through a support ticket to regain access. Once your access has been restored, you can proceed with deleting the tenant by following the steps outlined in this official Microsoft document: How to delete your Microsoft Entra tenant

To move forward with this request, I’ll need some additional information from you. Since this includes Personally Identifiable Information (PII), please send the following details via private message:
