Hi! I've deployed an Azure Local instance and I want to test its capabilities. I managed to deploy a windows 11 VM. I now wanted to deploy a Linux VM but I don't that is currently possible, can someone confirm this theory? I've looked on a github page from Microsoft and saw the following comment (https://github.com/Azure/azure-quickstart-templates/blob/master/quickstarts/microsoft.azurestackhci/image-from-azure-marketplace/main.bicep):
I was wondering if someone might have found a workaround for this?
Also I wanted to have a look at AVD's with Azure Local. Does anyone know if this is also unavailable? When I look it up I see the following:
"The following features are currently in preview:
Azure Virtual Desktop on Azure Local for Azure Government and for Azure operated by 21Vianet (Azure in China).
Host pools with a session host configuration.
For legal terms that apply to Azure features that are in beta, in preview, or otherwise not yet released into general availability, see Supplemental Terms of Use for Microsoft Azure Previews."
Does this mean it is only in preview for certain subscribers and the others are being left out?
It would be great if someone has any answers for this :)
Greetings Jaco

Hello @Jaco,
Yes, Azure Virtual Desktop on Azure Local is currently in preview for specific subscribers, including Azure Government and Azure operated by 21Vianet. This means that not all Azure users have access to this feature at this time, as it is still being tested and refined.
Azure Virtual Desktop on Azure Local for Azure Government is currently in preview with HCI version 23H2 (and newer). Portal provisioning isn't available.Keep an eye on updates from Microsoft for any changes regarding the availability of Azure Virtual Desktop features.
