Do New Edge Versions Contain All Previous Security Fixes?

Are all Microsoft Edge patches cumulative? Specifically, does the latest Edge patch include all previous security updates and other fixes from earlier versions, or do older patches need to be installed separately?

Example:

If I install only the latest Edge version (e.g., 137.0.3296.68), will it include all the security fixes from earlier versions or do I need to apply each version incrementally?

    Hi IPname,

Thank you for posting your question

    1. Progressive Rollouts: Microsoft describes how updates to the Edge Stable channel are rolled out progressively to ensure safe and complete upgrades. This implies that each update is comprehensive and includes all prior fixes: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-update-progressive-rollout
    2. Edge Lifecycle and Support: The Edge Lifecycle documentation explains that support is provided for the most recent versions, reinforcing that updates are expected to be complete and self-contained.
    3. Release Schedule: The Edge release schedule outlines how updates are delivered across channels, with no mention of needing to install previous versions incrementally—again supporting the cumulative nature of updates.

This means that when you install the latest version of Edge, such as version 137.0.3296.68 you mentioned, it should include all previous security fixes and updates. You don’t have to install each version incrementally; the latest update contains all the fixes from earlier releases.
