MS 360 and Office

I have downloaded MS 360 onto my laptop, but I’m unable to open any documents. I have done both, the Quick Repair and Online Repair, restart my laptop after each fix is completed, but still unable to open my documents.

When I click on a document, the blue wheel spins for about a second then goes away.

FYI: I click on “Business” when it asked for the “second child item tag.” This laptop is for personnel use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

How are you trying to open documents? By double-clicking icons?

Try using the File > Open > Browse command from within Word and see if that makes a difference.

If you click on Open, or on the Word App, can you create a new document, save it and then re-open it?

I suggest that when you have Word running, you right click on the Word icon on the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen and then left click on "Pin to Task Bar" so that it will remain on the Task Bar and can be used to start the Word application. Likewise for Excel.

    Hi Scarf it Up

Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A forum regarding the issue of being unable to open any documents. I understand how confusing it can be when a feature that typically works without issue suddenly becomes unresponsive.

I’d like to follow up on the problem you’ve encountered with Microsoft 365. In addition to the two methods you’ve already tried, may I ask if you’ve attempted any other troubleshooting steps?

If possible, could you please share a screenshot of your Programs and Features section? This would help provide a clearer view of your current setup. However, if you're not comfortable sharing a screenshot, no problem, you might consider trying the following steps instead:

    1. Run Office in Safe Mode: Hold down Ctrl while launching Excel or Word to see if the application opens properly. Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC - Microsoft Support
    2. Open a Document from Within the Application: Launch the app first, then navigate to File > Open > Browse to select your document.
    3. Create a New Windows User Profile: Try accessing the Office apps from a newly created user account to determine if the issue is profile-specific.

We hope one of these methods helps resolve the issue. Please test them and let us know your results so we can continue improving our support and guidance.

Hi everyone. I appreciated your suggestions, but none of them worked.

I can't even get Word and Excel Apps to launch on my laptop.

I am not a "techy" person. I had go Google how to do a screen shot.

Gabriel-N: Is there a phone number I can call at MS to get help with this?

If I Run as administer, I can open up my Word document. But when I close the document, Word app no longer opens the document.
