Hello Lundqvist,
Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Community Forum!
I understand that that you are looking for steps and resources for viewing your Clarity enabled UET tags. I hope this response with help links is what you're looking for:
UET and Clarity integration is not available to everyone yet, but it soon will be! Clarity is Microsoft’s free behavioral analysis tool that helps you understand how customers interact with your website. By integrating Universal Event Tracking (UET) with Clarity, you can use a single UET tag for behavioral insights such as heatmaps and session playbacks, conversion tracking, automated bidding, and audience targeting. Once enabled, your UET tag sends data, or signals, from your website to Clarity. New UET tags are enabled to capture Clarity data by default (Learn more about creating a UET tag). To learn more about Clarity, its features, and what data it captures, visit the Clarity documentation.
For instance, on Frequently asked questions related to Clarity you can see what data clarity collects. Clarity captures the user interactions on your website such as, how the page is rendering, user interactions such as mouse movements, clicks, scrolls, and so on. The code to capture this information is open source and available on GitHub. You can also read a summary of what data fields we collect. You can choose to mask your users' data. For more information, see Microsoft Privacy Statement. The Clarity data collection article lists what it collects after it's installed on your site.
The demo is also good for seeing Clarity metrics and how they are displayed on the clarity platform. One effective way of viewing the data when you Install the extension.
Clarity live is a browser extension that helps you quickly view users interaction with your site in real time. You can view instant heatmaps, area maps, and watch recordings for any page you're on: Learn more aboutClarity Live Extension. Clarity is 100% free - forever. You're never asked to upgrade to a paid version. No credit card is required to sign up. Clarity live extension is easy to use. Start by downloading the extension on Chrome Web Store. How can I sign up for Clarity in UET?
Setting up Clarity on UET is easy. On the Microsoft Ads portal, navigate to your interested UET tag. Select the checkbox to enable Clarity. Once enabled, a Clarity account is created for you and a Clarity tag is placed on the pages that have that UET tag. For more information, see UET-Clarity user guide.
How to access my Clarity project?
There are two ways to access your Clarity project after enabling it for your UET tag.
Method 1
Directly from the Clarity website.
- Sign into Microsoft Clarity, with your Microsoft Ads account credentials.
- Go to your Clarity project dashboard and start viewing your data.
- If this is your first-time signing into Clarity after adding it from UET, you need to verify your account first.
- Sign into Clarity using your Ads credentials, and navigate to your Clarity project, which is grayed out.
- Select Verify.
- Check your inbox for an email to complete verification.
Method 2
- Sign into the Microsoft Ads portal.
- From the top menu, select Conversion Tracking > Microsoft Clarity.
- Sign into your Microsoft Clarity account, with your Microsoft Ads account credentials.
Other points to keep in mind:
- In order to be eligible to for a UET upgrade with Clarity, you must have the JavaScript versionof UET on your website. We highly recommend having the tag across all pages of your website to maximize the customer journey insights. Clarity shouldn’t be used on sites that contain sensitive data, including information related to government, user health care, or user financial services. For more information, see Microsoft Clarity Terms of Use. For all other advertisers, we plan to bring the power of Clarity and free analytics if you have the JavaScript UET tag across your website. We’ll first pilot the integration, collect client feedback, and then give 30 days' notice before we optimize your experience. You’ll have the option to opt out if you choose to.
- You can access Clarity data without having UET implemented across your website. you can install the Clarity tracking codeon your website by itself; however, since you’re a Microsoft Advertising client, we highly recommend taking the more effective path of installing UET to gain additional benefits including, but not limited to, conversion tracking, enabling more robust features in audience targeting and automated bidding, and future-proofing for changes in cookie and browser technologies.
- Our scope of support for conversion tracking queries (Clarity/UET, etc.) is limited and advertises are sometimes referred to their web developers. However, if you want to learn more or have specific questions about Clarity, you may also send your general questions to ClarityMS@microsoft.com.
- Where can I learn more about the data collected once Microsoft Clarity is enabled? The 3 links below are highly recommended:
- For downloading recordings in clarity, please see: How to download Recordings in Clarity | Microsoft Learn
