Samsung Buds 2Pro connects to bluetooth but it doesnt identify as Audio nor sound therefore I cant use it off surface Laptop 4

Hi
I have been trying to connect my Samsung Buds 2 pro to surface laptop 4 on Windows 11 Pro. All updates are current. Intel Core i7, version 22H2

  • I have checked on Intel and updated to Bluetooth driver version 22.220.1.1
  • I have contacted Samsung who asked me to validate whether my earbuds work on another PC. This is confirmed, my other laptop is another Surface, sound and audio works fine for my earbuds. Their recommendation was that I contact Microsoft
  • I have read through the forums for a hopeful solution (this is where I got the tip to check for the latest Intel Bluetooth driver
  • I have added the Samsung Buds app in the windows app stored (stays connected but still not sound)
  • I have no issues connecting other headphones via blue tooth to the current surface laptop 4
  • I have turned Bluetooth on and off numerous times
  • I have reset my earbuds
  • I have tried to connect via Bluetooth from the swift pair function and also via Bluetooth & devices>add device and Bluetooth & devices>sound>apr new output device and Bluetooth & devices>sound>pair new input device
  • I can confirm the buds are not linked by Bluetooth to any other device whilst I attempt it to my surface laptop 4
  • Checked for updates on laptop, everything is current
  • Have turned my laptop on and off multiple times

Quite frankly, I'm at my wits end.

When the Bluetooth pairing is successful, the galaxy buds2 pro logo appears successfully but when I open the case or have the buds in my ear, i cant even 'connect' to it. Instead I get the swift pair notification to connect by Bluetooth. If I take this approach, 1/10 times its successful. else, it fails

If I am somehow successful (after I remove the device and try again)

It drops in as 'Other' and not identify as Input nor Output (no voice nor sound)

Under sound, the buds doesn't appear

Would greatly appreciate anyone help. I never had so much issues with audio with any other devices

***Moved from Windows / Windows 11 / Devices and drivers***

    Hi ami n,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

You mentioned that this Samsung Buds Pro works fine on your other Surface, is that Surface also running on Windows 11 Pro version 22H2? If not, kindly provide us here with the Windows specifications of that Surface where this Samsung Buds works fine.

Kindly try also to open Device Manager and see if there is a driver showing with an error or showing under Other devices. If there is, kindly provide us with its driver name and the error that is getting. If possible, provide us with a screenshot also of the Device Manager window showing the Bluetooth, Human Interface devices and Other devices sections.

To troubleshoot, please try these steps below:

1: Check Surface drivers' health and run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit

See this page for reference: Fix common Surface problems using the Surface app and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit - Microsoft Support

Do this while the buds are paired to your Surface

2: Uninstall and reinstall Bluetooth driver

    Open Device Manager

    Expand Bluetooth

Right-click on the Bluetooth driver of the device

    Select Uninstall device

Note: If prompted with a checkbox stating "Delete the driver software for this device", leave it uncheck then hit Uninstall

After uninstalling, click Action and select Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver and test the Samsung Buds again

Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

    Hi Marrion,
I have tried all your diagnostic steps and reinstallation of Bluetooth drivers associated with the earbuds, but it still does not work (I'm testing this by playing a youtube video).
The Galaxy Buds2 Pro remains under Bluetooth & Devices > devices, it is green for connected, fully charged and not under audio/input

Also the other Surface where the earbuds can be detected, yes it is on Windows 11 Pro version 22H2.

Kindly note that when I uninstall the 2 adapters I see related to the earbuds from device manager, strangely another one mysteriously appears so I have to uninstall the 3rd one.

IN any case, I can still get some sound when I open the Samsung Buds app on the defective Surface, I hear the sound of ambient vs off. Just not off any Zoom calls for microphone nor sound or any video audio on Youtube or any videos for that matter.

I have the same issue, Buds2 Pro don't connect with Win11 22H2, installed Galaxy Buds app from Microsoft store but it didn't fix the issue. Tried all steps which Ami N did. I think there's a problem with the driver. My Buds2 Pro were detected by Windows but they use a driver from 21.06.2006, version 10.0.22621.1778, maybe this is an issue. Microsoft please fix this since MPOW5 Bluetooth head phones work like a charm and connection took me 30 seconds.
