Surface dock USB ports not functioning

My surface dock (1) usb ports seem to be non functional.

This seems dependent on the position of the surface to surface dock connector.

If I flip the power supply connector around the displayport no longer functions but the usb ports start to function.

Is there any advice to get both ports working?

I have already tried the surface diagnostic tool kit, updating the surface dock etc.

    Hello tnsoom,

    Thanks for posting your concern here.

    First of all, how did you update your Surface Dock? If you updated via Windows update, we suggest to update your dock manually here: Surface Tools for IT and then download and install Surface_Dock_FwUpdate_1.53.139_Win10_17763_20.075.41193_0_AMD64.msi.

    If issue persists, disable and enable USB port in UEFI**.**See How to get to the UEFI settings on a Surface for more details. Once you're in UEFI, go to **Devices,**disable Docking USB portfor at least 15 seconds and then back to enable. Click Exit and Restart device.
