Heavy graphical glitching when using Netflix

The Problem: While using Netflix, I get REALLY heavy graphical glitches over the entire screen, basically making everything on the screen unintelligible. This happens both with the browser version, and with the windows app.

I tried both the current Surface GPU drivers for my Surface Pro 8, updated via Windows Update, and the intel drivers from Intels website. Both have this issue.

The issue doesn't occur consistently. However, it seems to have situations in which it happens more often.

It mostly happens when I play something on Netflix (for a couple minutes) and then pause. After a couple of seconds of pausing, it usually starts. To fix the issue, I have to close Netflix and then reopen it. The issues stop as soon as Netflix is closed.

I don't know if this is an issue with my hardware, drivers or Windows.

HW Platform: Surface Pro 8 (i7/256GB/16GB)

Current Software: Windows 11 25151 (GPU Driver: 27.20.100.9624 from 23.07.2021, current surface driver)

(Also happens on stable Windows 11 and Intel Drivers)

Windows has been reinstalled previously, and the issue still persists.

Does anybody else have these issues? Or something similar?

Does anybody have a fix for this?

We really can't trouble shoot Insiders builds here or non Surface generic drivers. Are you using a 120Hz or 60Hz refresh rate (and does that make a difference)?

Have you tried multiple browsers, using InPrivate/incognito mode so as not to load extensions?

    Hi,

    thanks for the reply.

Since every OS I threw at the Surface is showing the same issue, I doubt that the insider builds make any difference. (Couldn't try Linux so far, since basically no drivers exist for Linux, and I haven't dug into installing a custom kernel for that yet.)

Also, the currently installed drivers are the Surface drivers from the recovery image.

I tried running Netflix without any extensions (both in incognito and in an entirely separate browser) and haven't seen any difference.

    Same goes for 120/60Hz.

Any other ideas? I don't want to make a warranty claim just for this issue, especially since it runs fine otherwise.

    Regards,

    LightJack

Do you have the same issues with other streaming venues? Youtube, or any of the other streaming services?

YouTube and Twitch both work fine, but I don't think they use the same sort of content protection. So, the problem might be related to something like that.

I also didn't have problems with Prime Video, but I haven't used that very much.

That sounds like an app compatibility/driver issue. Have you used the Feedback Hub App to file a problem report on this? That is what I would recommend. Be sure to use the function within the app to duplicate the problem so that logs can be collected.
