Surface Pen - Top Button not working properly

Hi, I bought a brand new surface pen 1776 model.

Everything works perfectly fine, Bluetooth connects fast and all buttons work.

But for some reason after a few minutes the top button stop working, and no longer responds to clicking.

The only way to solve this is by removing the pen entirely from the surface Bluetooth panel and reconnecting it from scrach... But than again it will only work again for about 5 minutes before you have to repeat this process.

Does anyone else have this issue and have any idea of how to solve it? any help would be much appreciated! :)

P.S.

I have a Surface Go 2 m3 version.

    Hello DanielCoulson1,

Thanks for posting your concern here.

Please try to check if your pen is connected to another host device. The Bluetooth connection from the other device and your Surface Go 2 might be interfering the button to respond as intended. Otherwise, test your pen to another Surface device and see if it does the same issue. In the meantime, please run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check for Windows Update.****Restart the Surface after installing updates. Validate if the button functionality in Windows settings are set correctly. Go to Settings > Devices > validate that pen is paired: look for Surface pen, if so then proceed to > Pen & Windows Ink and validate all setting are what you expect.

Please let me know how the issue progresses. Don't hesitate to respond to this thread if there’s anything else that needs to be addressed.

    Best regards,

    StevenK

    Thank you!

I think i solved the problem.

I entered the Bluetooth setting and deleted the surface pen driver, than reconnected the pen and let it install again the driver.

Seems like it works for now' ill keep you posted if it will fail again :)
